Incentive inspiration: Delights of Dublin

Ireland offers a wealth of experiences, just waiting to be discovered by incentive groups. This sample incentive itinerary by Meet In Ireland, an inVOYAGE 2020 partner, explores the delights of Dublin and nearby County Wicklow, combining easily accessible locations with high-quality team-building activities. The 48-hour trip focuses on luxury, iconic Irish brands, and unique experiences.

Day One: Fun & Food

This two-day stay in Dublin kicks off with a visit to the home of Ireland’s most famous exports, the Guinness Storehouse. Lunch will be served on-site, while the evening will be spent soaking up some uniquely Irish experiences around the city. Excitement will build at a greyhound racing stadium, conversation will flow in a cosy pub night with traditional music and dancing, and appetites will be satiated with an elegant dinner in a sophisticated Dublin venue.

A highlight of the programme is a specially designed Irish Farm Challenge, which sees guests working together to build the largest window in the world out of hay bales, on a working farm in the wilds of County Wicklow. After a welcome breakfast of fresh farm-baked scones and coffee, delegates will tackle the challenge in a large field with over 600 bales of hay, with a motivational speech to inspire team work.

With a lot of hard work, a few adjustments and some very large measurements, the teams survey their achievement, and a well-deserved celebration lunch follows. This fun challenge could be customised to any corporate incentive travel group, to build problem-solving skills and encourage team-building.

Day Two: Explore Dublin

For the second day of this tailor-made trip, the group will be split into teams to roam Dublin’s city centre with a guide. The teams will get lessons in playing the bodhrán (Irish drum), creating the perfect whiskey-laced Irish coffee and learning a few Irish dancing steps.

While exploring the nooks and crannies of Dublin’s cobble-stoned alleyways and buzzing districts together, teams will soak in history and culture with a range of activities, and build new bonds. A celebratory banquet at a landmark Dublin location ends the two-day adventure in style, with guests enjoying a menu of regional produce teamed with locally-distilled craft beers and spirits.
