5 reasons to choose the new Kempinski Palace Engelberg

Kempinski Palace Engelberg makes its debut this week in the heart of the Swiss Alps in Central Switzerland, a stunning year-round destination for luxury events and incentives.

The new five-star property, which officially opened on 25 June, offers corporate groups a peaceful escape from fast-paced city life. Boasting a prime location in the centre of the village, the hotel is right next to the spa gardens and a ten-minute walk from the famous Engelberg monastery and the funiculars.

Taking inspiration from the mountains, carefully selected local materials such as wood and stone are featured throughout the palace, mirroring the subtle textures and colours of nature in its design. Starting from the large entrance hall, historical features are preserved, with hidden gems such as tile mosaics and marble, hexagonal motifs, coffered ceilings and chandeliers to be discovered.

Here’s five reasons why the property provides the perfect backdrop for memorable experiences…

Elegant rooms and suites – all with a unique mountain view

The 119 spacious rooms and suites are characterised by light colours and luxe materials, such as brushed oak and sumptuous leather in warm shades of brown. Gentle shades of green and blue convey a feeling of fresh mountain air, enhanced by spectacular panoramic views of the mountains.

Regional gastronomic highlights

The Cattani Restaurant serves up seasonal produce from local producers, carefully prepared by executive chef Michéle Müller, notably one of the few female chefs in a Swiss five-star-superior hotel, who constantly seeks out new culinary experiences to delight and surprise guests.

Historical décor and dark colors revive the Roaring Twenties at The Palace Bar and the Cigar Lounge, while the Wintergarden with its own terrace is the perfect place for the traditional Afternoon Tea – a signature service of the hotel.

A light-filled spa for all the senses

On the top floor, “Kempinski The Spa” features an infinity pool with spacious lounging areas, a relaxation room with an open Himalayan salt-stone fireplace and carefully selected treatments provide the perfect place to unwind and allow to engage all senses.

State-of-the-art meeting and event rooms with historic Kursaal

Nine conference rooms with plenty of natural light, covering an area of around 850 sq m await meeting and event participants. The ground-level location facilitates a variety of events, such as car presentations. Thanks to the newly renovated historic Kursaal – managed by Kursaal AG Engelberg – it is possible to hold events with up to 1,000 guests.

Incentive opportunities are endless

From the valley floor at 1,000 to 3,000 meters above sea level, Engelberg is the perfect place for memorable mountain experiences all year round.

Summer in Engelberg is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts with mountain biking, hiking, climbing and fishing among the many activities available.

In Winter, Engelberg's ski area has guaranteed snow, easy accessibility and experiences such as ski tours, freeride, snowshoe tours, cross-country skiing and the Trübsee snow park.
