Rosewood unveils post-pandemic wellness experiences

With wellness experiences predicted to be a major travel trend post-Covid, Rosewood has launched a new wellness concept directly responding to the effects of the pandemic on our minds, bodies and emotions. Journey to Resilience is designed to enhance one’s ability to recover from or adapt easily to change and challenges.

Following a challenging year with stressful periods and rising levels of anxiety, the retreats will focus on four main behavioural elements to resilience - positivism, purpose, resourcefulness and compassion, through practices that take individuals on a journey to rediscover one’s life and attain emotional, physical and mental balance.

Fourteen Rosewood properties worldwide are offering the new programme to build resilience, including Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, Rosewood Hong Kong; Rosewood Bangkok. Rosewood Bermuda, Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands, Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel and Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico.

In keeping with Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy, each retreat will incorporate practices reflective of local wellness traditions and natural surroundings.

“Consciously and unconsciously, resilience is becoming more important in our day-to-day lives – especially due to the global pandemic,” said Niamh O’Connell, group vice president of wellness & brand experience at Rosewood Hotel Group.

“Each Journey to Resilience retreat is designed to assist guests in recognising areas of their lives they’d like to restructure or enhance, providing the tools and support they need to make these changes. Whether through physical therapies or authentic healing treatments for the mind and emotions, this process enables individuals to adopt an enhanced and more resilient lifestyle, resulting in a complete sense of self-acceptance.”

Asaya at Rosewood Hong Kong’s Journey to Resilience retreat begins with Resilience Insights in the form of a Wellness Lifestyle Assessment and Body Composition Test.

The programme includes Naturopath Consultation, Stress and Sleep Management and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel will offer guests Weightless Water Yoga, a meditative aqua journey that teaches individuals how to control their breathing, concentration and balance, as well as a Neurotherapy Session that can measure and monitor neurofeedback and identify which activities give rise to unwanted symptoms.

At Rosewood Bangkok, guests will begin with a consultation by a Spa Concierge and Movement Coach to set personal intentions.. Throughout the journey, guests will experience traditional Thai treatments such as Tai Pew Ngam, a ritual inspired by Thai royal beauties that exfoliate the skin, as well as a Chong Massage reflective of the Chong tribe in eastern Thailand that ultimately improves energy.

Rosewood Bermuda provides participants with a Guide to Self-Discovery, encouraging guests to connect with both nature and their inner emotions. The programme’s Open-Heart Emotional Yoga takes place on the beach at sunrise, and the Vagus Nerve Facial Experience targets the longest cranial nerve in the body which helps regulate sleep and balance emotions.
